BURBANK, Calif. (AP)—Olympic figure skating champion Kim Yu-na is set to
train in Los Angeles. Although for how long and under whose tutelage still
remains to be seen.
Since splitting from her longtime coach Brian Orser in a public spat last
month, Kim had remained coy on her future plans.
Kim eliminated some of the mystery on Tuesday, confirming she would be
moving her training base from Canada to Artesia on the outskirts of Los Angeles.

Olympic gold medalist Evan Lysacek is taking some time off. How much time
off, he hasn’t decided.
Lysacek said Thursday he won’t compete the rest of this year, meaning he
will skip the Grand Prix season. But he still wants to skate, and hasn’t ruled
out the U.S. championships in mid-January.
“I miss it. I miss competing. I miss training,” Lysacek said. “Obviously
I love doing all the work I’m doing with charities and sponsors. At the same
time, I’m a skater and I love to skate. I’m itching to get back on the ice as
much as I can. I guess I would know if I felt my career was done.

Team USA select Sheffield
27 Aug 2010The USA diving team have signed an agreement with Sheffield to train in the city ahead of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Diving are the first USA squad to be based in Sheffield for pre-games training and discussions will continue to take place with other USA teams to base themselves in the city. They are the second nation to choose Sheffield as a base, following the announcement in May 2008 that the Serbian Olympic team had chosen Sheffield and Leeds for their pre-games training camp base.
Steve Foley, High Performance Director for USA Diving said, “USA Diving is extremely excited to name Sheffield as their pre London 2012 training site.
Many venues within the UK and also throughout Europe were carefully considered but in the end, the outstanding facilities of Ponds Forge and the English Institute of Sport, plus excellent hotels and the superb location for easy commute to and from London were the determining factors."
