SEOUL, March 11 (Reuters) - Pyeongchang has submitted its
2018 application file to the International Olympic Committee
(IOC) with South Korea still basking in glory from the
Vancouver Games.
Bid leaders outlined the winter resort’s easy accessibility
and overwhelming public support for the bid, the Korea Times
reported.
South Korea is still buzzing after the country’s athletes
finished a best-ever fifth in last month’s Vancouver medals
table with six gold, six silver and two bronze.

SEOUL, South Korea (AP)—Olympic gold medalist Kim Yu-na may be the reigning
queen of the ice, but her coach Brian Orser says there’s one jump she has yet to
tackle in competition: the difficult triple axel.
Asked about Orser’s secret plan to introduce the jump championed by Japanese
rival Mao Asada, Kim raised her eyebrows during a news conference Tuesday at
Seoul’s Incheon airport.

VANCOUVER (Reuters) - Olympic gold medalist and snowboarder Shaun White wants to be known as the "Animal."
Sports
"Cash cow" might be a more accurate moniker.
White, with his signature shaggy flame-red mane and death defying twists, emerges from the 2010 Winter Games as the standout personality and probably the most marketable athlete.
The California halfpipe hero was already the top American earner at these Winter Games at $8 million last year, but as he showed with his incomparable Double McTwist 1260 in his gold medal run, he can soar to new heights.

VANCOUVER -- They call her Queen, South Korea's Kim Yu-Na , and the stunning performance that saw her win Olympic gold Thursday night was not just a coronation but an affirmation of how much better a figure skater she is than any other woman on Planet Earth.
To witness Kim on the ice is to evoke the same sentiment you get when sprinter Usain Bolt is waiting for the stick in the relay.
