VANCOUVER, March 10 (Reuters) - An Olympic mystery was
solved on Wednesday when officials said they had located the
stick Sidney Crosby used to win the men’s hockey gold medal for
Canada at the Vancouver Games.
The stick, along with one of Crosby’s gloves, disappeared
during the chaotic on-ice celebrations following Canada’s 3-2
overtime victory over the United States on Feb. 28.

TORONTO (AP) —Sidney Crosby’s missing Olympic stick and glove have been found.
Hockey Canada said Wednesday that Crosby’s missing equipment was misplaced rather than stolen after the frenzy following Crosby’s overtime goal against the United States in the gold-medal game on Feb. 28.
Crosby’s stick was located in Toronto as part of a shipment heading to the International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame in St. Petersburg, Russia. The IIHF helped locate the stick and provided photographs to Crosby, who confirmed that it was the game stick.

This is Sidney Crosby speaking: "It's part of being Canadian. Everyone wants to play on this team, no matter if there is pressure. This is the team to play on and you want to win the gold medal. Anything else isn't acceptable."
Actually, that was Sidney Crosby speaking in 2005, on the eve of helping Team Canada win its first world junior championship in seven years. Canada didn't lose another junior summit until last month.

VANCOUVER - Jarome Iginla has moved like a yo-yo through the lineup during these Olympics. But after scoring twice in an 8-2 win against Germany last night, the Team Canada winger might have finally found some stability alongside Sidney Crosby and Eric Staal.

VANCOUVER (AP) -- Calm down, Canada.
Take a day to collect your nerves. Stop analyzing and overanalyzing. It's OK to debate line combinations -- especially who should be playing right wing on Sidney Crosby's line -- but it's too early in the Olympic hockey tournament for all this woe-is-Canada talk.
That was the message the Canadian Olympic team in effect sent to its close-to-hysterical homeland after escaping with a 3-2 victory Thursday over Switzerland, the same country that doomed Canada in 2006 to one of its most excruciating losses since it invented the sport.

The party was a little late starting, but the crowd at Canada Hockey Place will tell you it was worth the wait.
Before they left, the crowd stood on its feet and roared.
