track speedskating world championships.
Yoon-Gy Kwak clocked 2:24.316 minutes to win the men’s 1,500-meter title
Friday, leaving the silver and bronze medals to teammates Si-Bak Sung on
2:24.373, and Ho-Suk Lee who took the bronze in a time of 2:24.459.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) -- Apolo Ohno has easily advanced through the preliminaries of 1000m short track, staying on course to surpass Bonnie Blair as the most decorated U.S. Winter Olympian.
After skating his individual race Wednesday, Ohno helped the United States advance to the 5,000 relay final with a second-place finish in its semifinal heat.

Vancouver (AFP) - France have turned to South Korea, the kings of Olympic short-track speed-skating, in a bold attempt to shatter Asian supremacy in the event at the Vancouver Games which get underway on Friday.
Cho Hang-min, only 23 years old, has been drafted in as assistant coach to the French team in Canada, and he has a stern message for his new pupils.
