WELL DONE CANADA -
03-03-2010 (23:02)
![]()
Well here in Canada on the last day of the Olympics, the
real party has just begun.
The second half of these Winter Games has been very productive for this nation. We were successful each and
every day with Canadian athletes reaching their full potential.
We won six golds in
the last 48 hours of the games. In all respects the "Own the Podium" program
instituted by the Federal Government back when Vancouver/Whistler were awarded the Games has become a huge success.

VANCOUVER (Reuters) - Canadian snowboarder Jasey Jay Anderson overcame dismal conditions on Saturday to win gold in the Olympic men's parallel giant slalom watched by his two young daughters.
Sports
Anderson thrilled the rain-soaked crowd at the last event on weather-challenged Cypress Mountain as he raced through the dense fog and squeezed past Austria's Benjamin Karl to win.
The Canadian started with a slight time deficit after the first run of the final but made up ground coming down the course and finished a few board lengths ahead of Karl.

VANCOUVER (Reuters) - Canada and the United States are set to bring the curtain down on the Vancouver Winter Games with an Olympic showstopper in the men's ice hockey final on Sunday.
Sports
The fireworks will start early on the final day as Canada and the U.S. go toe-to-toe for the last gold of the Games which could also determine which nation finishes top the medal table.
But for Canadians, who have been waiting for this day since Vancouver was awarded the Games, there is only one medal that matters -- men's ice hockey gold.
