CALGARY ' At the age of 17, Megan Gunning already has a strong resume when it comes to the high-altitude world of ski halfpipe.
The Grade 11 student at the National Sports School placed second at the 2009 world championship and she won silver at the 2010 Winter X Games.

MOSCOW (AP)—The head of Russia’s freestyle skiing federation has resigned, the
fourth sports official to quit following the country’s poor performance at the
Vancouver Olympics.
The federation’s vice president, Lev Kofman, says Alexander Cherkasov
resigned late Tuesday.

VANCOUVER ' Kyle Nissen of Calgary flirted with a medal Thursday night but faltered on his second and final jump and settled for fifth place in men's aerials at the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games.
Belarus's Alexei Grishin won the gold medal with a score of 248.41, edging Jeret Peterson of the U.S., who was second at 247.21. China's Liu Zhongqing won the bronze with 242.53 points.

Vancouver (AFP) - Alexei Grishin of Belarus won the men's Olympic aerials gold on Thursday while Jeret Peterson of the United States took the silver and China's Liu Zhongqing won the bronze.
Grishin scored a combined total of 248.41 points in his two jumps to finish just ahead of Peterson, on 247.21. Liu scored 242.53.
